Welcome to the BEETHOVEN BIBLIOGRAPHY DATABASE (BBD)
The BBD currently includes 2,700 records for books and scores
The Beethoven Bibliography Database is a research project of the
Ira F. Brilliant Center for Beethoven Studies at San Jose State
University. The database, begun in 1990, is funded by SJSU, the National
Endowment for the Humanities, the American Beethoven Society, and other
contributors.
The database indexes books and articles about Ludwig van Beethoven
and first and early editions of his scores. Currently, all materials
included are located at the Beethoven Center (Wahlquist Library North
Room 614).
To order a copy of the instructions for use of the database and a
list of subject terms, call the Beethoven Center at 408-924-4590 (or by
e-mail: ELLIOT@SJSUVM1.SJSU.EDU).
The Beethoven Center is open to the public from 1-5 p.m.
Monday-Thursday and 1-4 p.m. Friday, or by appointment. Materials do
not circulate, but photocopy service is available for 20 cents per page.
For further information information, contact William Meredith (Director)
or Patricia Elliott (Curator) at 408-924-4590.
